Services include:  counselling, consultation with physical therapist, speech language pathologists, psychologists and other specialists, respite, aides, referral to educational/training programs, and assistance with the cost of clothing, prescription drugs, medical supplies and other needs related to the child’s disability.  The program is voluntary; parents remain the guardians for their child and are responsible for all decision making and the usual expenses of raising a child until their child turns 18 years old.  FSCD is funded by AB Community and Social Services and works in partnership with eligible families to provide supports and services based on each child and family’s individual assessed needs.
