Child Care Staff
Job Description
Licensed After School Care Program, OSCAR Out of School Care, a program of Camrose & District FCSS is recruiting all part time and causal staff that LOVE working with school age children. If you are a caring, dedicated and hardworking child care professional that wants to make a difference in the lives of school age children, we want to hear from you! Recruiting Alberta Certified Level 1, 2 & 3 educators.
Duties
- Develop, and implement daily programming according to the interests of the children
- Develop the children’s pro-social skills, leadership skills, and life skills through role modeling and direct teaching according to the children’s abilities
- Supervise, assist and evaluate the children in their day to day activities, creating a safe, fun, warm and welcoming environment for all to enjoy
- Daily set-up of program area including snack prep, maintaining a well organized workspace
- Meet the program and license requirements including cleaning and daily reports
- Communicate effectively, work in a team, have a sense of humor, be creative, energetic, resilient and flexible
- Maintain a healthy lifestyle, role model for the children and families, and engage in professional development
- We operate according to the school schedule Monday to Friday 2:30 to 6:00pm.
- You have the opportunity for extra hours with planning, meeting and training time.
- You are off weekends and school breaks
- We operate a summer care program so you may have the opportunity to work hours through the summer, next year.
- Contract is for the school year term with possibility of signing for the next school term, and or summer program
- You earn a competitive wage based on certification and position plus wage top up for Alberta Certified Early Childhood Educators.
If you’re not certified there is a free, 50-hour online course to become an Alberta Certified Early Childhood Educators level 1.
Requirements
- Current Police Check with vulnerable sector search
- Current Intervention Record Check (IRC)
- Current First Aid Certification (can obtain after hire)
- Alberta Child Care Certification or working towards
Schedule
Afternoons Monday to Friday (15-18 per week)
