Battle River Big Band
email@example.com Community Camrose DescriptionContact us through Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pg/Battle-River-Big-Band-1332548700142450/about/If you like toe-tapping jazz tunes from the early ’30s and on, delivered in a brassy blast, you’ll get what you came for with this energetic group. This 18-piece band shows up with all of the old favourites in tune, and peppers some contemporary favourites in every gig.
Started in 2015, Battle River Big Band is primarily comprised of band and music teachers, and seasoned musicians, living in the communities in and around Camrose and Wetaskiwin. As the Battle River runs through or near these centres, the name suits this band to a tee.
The band has performed in Camrose at the Bailey Theatre, and downtown during Jaywalkers’ Jamboree. Their next performance will take place on May 13 in Wetaskiwin, at the First United Church.

NEW in 2021 is RESOUND! An ensemble of pitched and non-pitched percussion instruments – hand chimes, xylophones, drums, etc.; meets weekly to explore making music as a supplement to choir and/or performing on their own if the group is interested. beginner and intermediate (able to read music) available, ages 10 and up.
The Camrose and Area Children’s Choirs exist to provide varied, high-quality learning and performing experiences to children and teens in the greater Camrose region. Our Society began with the goal of opening a shelter for the lost and homeless pets in Camrose and the surrounding area. We began by raising funds for the awareness of and the need for an animal shelter in Camrose. The City of Camrose currently contributes funding to the shelter in the amount of our lease. All cats are vaccinated, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped prior to adopting them out.
Our Society hopes to add community outreach programs, such as low cost spay/neuter/microchip initiatives. These will contribute to reducing reproduction, increasing the number of strays being returned to their owners, and in turn controlling the stray population.
The Shelter has Charity Status and can issue tax deductible receipts for donations over $20.00.

The teamwork required greatly surpasses that of other sports and it is a sport that must be experienced to fully enjoy it. In the spring, there is a spring camp that ends with a Jamboree or exhibition game. It is a great program to be involved in and is guaranteed to be a fun and challenging experience.

Is a voluntary in-home service offered to parents and parents-to-be in support of raising children to be healthy, safe and secure. Home Visitation focuses on strengthening and supporting families. Our goal is: to build foundations for strong family functioning, to promote healthy childhood growth and development, help to cultivate the growth of nurturing, responsive parent-child relationships, support for prenatal care and its role in a healthy pregnancy, to enhance protective factors. Our approach is family-centered and strength based, we work in partnership with families with children prenatal to 6 years of age. Our enhanced home visitation also supports engagement with siblings within the home up to age 13.
As a further extension, we provide long-term support in response to the concern of substance use during pregnancy through Parent Child Assistance Program (PCAP). Home visitors work directly with participants offering personalized services for up to 3 years. You may be eligible to receive services if you are pregnant or up to 6 months postpartum, self-report alcohol and/or drug use during pregnancy, and are ineffectively engaged with community.
All programs are voluntary and free of charge. Referrals are welcome from everyone including self.
